Some updates from the developer's liaison meeting held on 30 July:
- Guided Busway boundaries - discussions are ongoing to ensure that access to the busway is restricted, with safe crossings and pedestrian access. bpha will be reviewing the fencing along its boundaries to ensure safety.
- POS1 (sports fields by hotel) - work has now begun, the full schedule has yet to be published. Alterations to the changing rooms plans are to be submitted by Gallagher for sign off.
- Community Centre road (section between Stanley and Central Avenues) - as planned this will be pedestrianised in the near future, possibly to coincide with the opening of the community centre.
- Treet pits - discussions are ongoing as to how to finish the tree pits. Gallagher reported that dead trees will be replaced following a site survey.
- LAPs (Local Areas of Play) - SCDC reported that the LAPs on Graham Road, Buttercup Road and Roship Road will be complete by the end of August.
- Landscaping - Gallagher will be reviewing the quality of all their landscaping following concerns about the mounds alongside the school.
- POS1 (Unwin Square, by retail centre) - Gallagher will shortly be fencing this area off - buses will have to revert to the main streets for waiting.
- Street lights - Gallagher reported that all currently occupied areas have adequate lighting, although 6 damaged street lamps are planned to be replaced.
- Retail Centre - planning approval expected in August
- Commercial Area - for consideration at planning meeting in October
