With Orchard Park officially being formed on 1 April (no joke!!), the first meeting of the new Community Council will be held on Thursday 2 April, 7.30pm at Orchard Park school.

With formal elections being delayed to coincide with other elections being held on 4 June, the Community Council will be formed until June with interim councillors made up of the 3 already elected District Councillors for Orchard Park - Mike Mason, Neil Davies and Jonathan Chatfield. These interim councillors will be supported by any Orchard Park residents that want to attend the meetings and represent their neighbourhoods.

All council meetings are public, so anyone can come along and hear what's being discussed and decided - the agenda for the 2 April meeting is attached to this article. Items for the agenda for the May meeting should be presented to the clerk by the last week of April - either to the clerk's office at Orchard Park school or by email to  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Amongst other things, the Community Council will be responsible for the management, maintenance and development of all the public facilities on Orchard Park - the community centre, play areas, public spaces, sports facilities etc and will likely have control of around one million pounds in order to achieve this.

If you're interested in how this money will be spent, have suggestions for the council's priorities or want to find out more about how the council works, why not come along this Thursday!!!
