Just to let you know (in case you've not already noticed) that the Crop Marks artists have just completed their first full day at Orchard Park making artworks for the Crop Marks Art Trail which will be open to the public next weekend : 28 - 31 August ... I have just uploaded some pictures from today to the Crop Marks Flickr website at >>>>> www.flickr.com/photos/cropmarks I will update it every evening so you can follow the progress of the artworks ... day by day .... AND there's LOTS of opportunities to get involved for ALL ages ... adults, teenagers and children .... Emma Fenelon is working with Orchard Park clay and hopes to make 500 bowls to reflect the number of currently occupied houses on Orchard Park - she needs your help ... come along to the Banana on Chieftain Way to play with clay and mud pies ... Elspeth Brooke is composing a new piece of music for Orchard Park and is running a workshop on Sunday 2pm - 4pm and Monday 7pm - 9pm in the school community rooms on Ring Fort Rd ... bring your instrument if you have one ... or just come along .... she has lots of percussion instruments to play with... the final piece will be broadcast on local radio over the Crop Marks exhibition weekend. Karen Rann is making 100 huge cushions for Orchard Park and welcomes your help on one her four sewing machines ... or just drop by for a chat ... she will be in different locations each day - find out where she is at the Banana on Chieftain Way David Kefford is creating "curious presences" from your donated and dumped "trash" - each day he will be working in a different location - call in at the Banana to find out where he is ... CJ Mahony is working near Unwin Square (off Chieftain Way) from dawn till dusk on a series of "towers" using construction materials : she welcomes your help if you are over 15 and are wearing sensible clothing and shoes/boots ... a chance to show the builders what YOU can do ... Caroline Wright is creating an opportunity for you to get to know a new neighbour ... look out for her "special delivery" on your doormat on Sunday morning! Helen and Diana (Urban (Col)Laboratory) are keen to chat about where you feel "at home" in Orchard Park ... they invite you to share a cup of tea with them at the Martin Grant Show Home - call Helen on 07940 773303 if you'd like to make a date to meet with them. I really hope you enjoy the presence of these seven dynamic artists over the coming week and that you also appreciate the "DIY re-signing" of Orchard Park which also took place today and will be completed tommorrow (Sunday).
