In March, I had an email conversation with someone at a house on Arbury Park, and it very quickly became painfully obvious that they were not aware how close this house was to the Guided Busway. If you live on Arbury Park, along the Kings Hedges Road front, then you are only feet from the Guided Bus, which will run between Arbury Park and Kings Hedges Road.
The Guided Busway will consist of two concrete channels for the buses and a maintenance track, which will double up as a public cyclway and bridlepath. The maintenance track will be between Arbury Park and the bus channels, so all houses will be at least 10' from the moving buses, but some not much more than that! If you walk down to the end of Chadwick Court, you'll see a series of black fence posts being installed - this marks the boundary of the Guided Busway, the other side of which will be the maintenance track. This fence is just about 3' from the houses at this point, and they'll be other sections along the Arbury Park frontage where the Guided Busway is as close! For info, the Busway along the front of Arbury Park is designed to run up to 14 buses an hour, 7 in each direction...that's one every 4 minutes (ish)!! Of course, that's the maximum. I don't have a detailed map at the moment, but this development map shows the rough path of the Guided Busway - it's the red line that run parallel to Kings Hedges Road. |
